Twenty-four hours to write and produce a short musical....sounds like an impossible task, right? The creative teams behind the musicals produced in the course of shooting this documentary pulled off four musicals with style and grace. The doc features Broadway superstars Cheyenne Jackson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Richard Kind, Mandy Gonzalez, Tracie Thoms, Nellie McKay, and the charmingly out-of-place Rachel Dratch.

A fascinating look at how the creative process works. What I enjoyed most about this documentary was the abundant natural humor involved in this process. These artists were funny, and the audience laughed a lot. This is also a film about people facing their fears of failure and not being good enough, and pushing through their fears to a triumphant, creative end. The audience sees that it takes courage for an artist to put himself and his creative reputation on the line, and try something challenging, new and and scary. This has to be a life-changing experience, for those who have the courage to try.
